Our Services
SEL Telecommunications Sdn. Bhd. (SEL) is a Malaysian based Company following a management buy-out on 30th June, 1999. It achieved the MS ISO 9001:2000 Quality Systems Certification on 2015. On top of this, we had upgraded SEL Quality System Standard to ISO9001:2008 certified.
Originally it was incorporated in 1986 as a wholly owned subsidiary of SEL AG, Germany, which at that time was itself a part of ITT and later on was taken over by Alcatel Alsthom of France. SEL AG started its first activities in Malaysia in 1970 after having won a contract from Jabatan Telekom Malaysia to connect Thailand with Malaysia via a high capacity analogue microwave link from Haadyai to Penang. Further contracts followed in 1974 to expand the Microwave Channel capacity between Kuala Lumpur and Kuantan and culminated finally 1984 with the award to plan, deliver and implement a nationwide Telecommunication Network spanning from its northern Thai border to Singapore and East Malaysia.
This project which was completed in 1995 provides Malaysia digital highways of today.
To implement this big task and to achieve the Malaysian Government’s objective of know how and technology transfer, SEL AG Germany decided to establish a local company called SEL Telecommunications Sdn. Bhd. in 1986.
